aparyāptaṃ tad asmākaṃ balam Bhīṣmâ-’bhirakṣitam | paryāptaṃ tv idam eteṣāṃ balaṃ Bhīmâ-’bhirakṣitam || (BhG I.10) ayaneṣu ca sarveṣu yathā-bhāgam avasthitāḥ | Bhīṣmam evâ ’bhirakṣantu bhavantaḥ sarva eva hi || (BhG I.11) अपर्याप्तं तद् अस्माकं बलम् भीष्मा-ऽभिरक्षितम् । पर्याप्तं त्व् इदम् एतेषां बलं भीमा-ऽभिरक्षितम् ॥ अयनेषु च सर्वेषु यथा-भागम् अवस्थिताः । भीष्मम् एवा ऽभिरक्षन्तु भवन्तः सर्व एव हि ॥ அபர்யாப்தம்ʼ தத்³ அஸ்மாகம்ʼ ப³லம் பீ⁴ஷ்மா-(அ)பி⁴ரக்ஷிதம் । பர்யாப்தம்ʼ த்வ் இத³ம் ஏதேஷாம்ʼ ப³லம்ʼ பீ⁴மா-(அ)பி⁴ரக்ஷிதம் ॥ அயநேஷு ச ஸர்வேஷு யதா²-பா⁴க³ம் அவஸ்தி²தா꞉ । பீ⁴ஷ்மம் ஏவா (அ)பி⁴ரக்ஷந்து ப⁴வந்த꞉ ஸர்வ ஏவ ஹி ॥ ಅಪರ್ಯಾಪ್ತಂ ತದ್ ಅಸ್ಮಾಕಂ ಬಲಮ್ ಭೀಷ್ಮಾ-ಽಭಿರಕ್ಷಿತಮ್ । ಪರ್ಯಾಪ್ತಂ ತ್ವ್ ಇದಮ್ ಏತೇಷಾಂ ಬಲಂ ಭೀಮಾ-ಽಭಿರಕ್ಷಿತಮ್ ॥ ಅಯನೇಷು ಚ ಸರ್ವೇಷು ಯಥಾ-ಭಾಗಮ್ ಅವಸ್ಥಿತಾಃ । ಭೀಷ್ಮಮ್ ಏವಾ ಽಭಿರಕ್ಷನ್ತು ಭವನ್ತಃ ಸರ್ವ ಏವ ಹಿ ॥ అపర్యాప్తం తద్ అస్మాకం బలమ్ భీష్మా-ఽభిరక్షితమ్ । పర్యాప్తం త్వ్ ఇదమ్ ఏతేషాం బలం భీమా-ఽభిరక్షితమ్ ॥ అయనేషు చ సర్వేషు యథా-భాగమ్ అవస్థితాః । భీష్మమ్ ఏవా ఽభిరక్షన్తు భవన్తః సర్వ ఏవ హి ॥ അപര്യാപ്തം തദ് അസ്മാകം ബലമ് ഭീഷ്മാ-ഽഭിരക്ഷിതമ് । പര്യാപ്തം ത്വ് ഇദമ് ഏതേഷാം ബലം ഭീമാ-ഽഭിരക്ഷിതമ് ॥ അയനേഷു ച സർവേഷു യഥാ-ഭാഗമ് അവസ്ഥിതാഃ । ഭീഷ്മമ് ഏവാ ഽഭിരക്ഷന്തു ഭവന്തഃ സർവ ഏവ ഹി ॥
(Duryodhana continues:)
“Therefore our force, guarded by Bhīṣma, is unlimited-yet-inadequate, whereas this force of theirs, guarded by Bhīma, is limited-yet-adequate. Positioning yourselves along all vectors of attack, make sure all of you guard Bhīṣma for sure.”
